An Ella Sleeps weighted plush weighs 2 kg - divided across three removable pouches in its belly. Take one out and the plush becomes lighter. That way, you decide how heavy it feels.
What is a weighted plush?
A weighted plush, also called a weighted stuffed animal, is a plush toy with extra weight. While an ordinary plush is mainly soft, a weighted plush adds something extra: constant, gentle pressure. Many people find that reassuring - similar to the feeling of a firm hug.
The difference from a weighted blanket is its shape. A blanket lies over you and is mainly used in bed. You hold a weighted plush, place it on your lap or take it with you to the sofa. That means it also works during the day, and people who find a blanket confining usually find a plush more comfortable. View the full range of blankets in our Blankets collection.
You decide the weight
This is what makes an Ella Sleeps different. The 2 kg is not fixed inside the plush, but divided across three separate pouches filled with tourmaline beads, hidden in the belly. Each pouch weighs 250 grams. Remove one and the plush weighs 1.75 kg. Remove two and it weighs 1.5 kg.
Why that matters: the ideal weight differs from person to person and from one moment to the next. A child who is still getting used to it can start with less weight. Anyone looking for a clearly noticeable sensation can leave everything in place. And on a day when it feels like too much, you can simply remove one pouch. With a sewn-in weighted plush, the weight is a one-time guess.

What do people use a weighted plush for?
- Winding down before sleep. Holding something heavy helps many people shift from alert to calm.
- Tension and restlessness. In tense moments, a tangible, noticeably present object provides support.
- Processing sensory input. After a busy day full of impressions, the pressure offers a point of calm. Many people with autism, ADHD or high sensitivity use it for this.
- Comfort and companionship. When feeling sad, missing someone or being alone, there is something to hold.

Which weight is right for you?
Start at 2 kg if you are looking for a clear, enveloping sensation. Not sure, or is the plush for a child who still needs to get used to it? Remove one or two pouches and build up gradually. You can always go back.
